ABSTRACT

Spectroscopy has insinuated itself into all the major scientific disciplines. Spectroscopy can measure atomic, molecular, and biological properties. It can measure dynamic as well as static properties. By choosing the proper frequency regime, one can examine molecular rotational properties, vibrations, or electronic excitations. The interior bulk properties of a medium can be examined or surface responses can be detailed. Although it may seem like it is an overstatement, the use of spectroscopy allows one to examine the properties and behavior of anything.
