ABSTRACT
Retinal scanning display technology advanced rapidly and offers very high-brightness, high-resolution, monochrome, and full-color systems with large color gamut, and good image quality. The technology has progressed from the concept to advanced technology demonstrators and has moved into commercial products. Cost-reduction efforts and further developments in microelectromechanical system scanner technologies, compact diode light source technologies, and design ergonomics enable a wide range of additional products for defense, aerospace, medical, industrial, and consumer markets.
