ABSTRACT
This entry deals with optical interferometers, which are devices/instruments based on the interference of light and are used for the accurate determination of parameters that influence the phase of the optical wave. Important interferometer configurations that evolved with time have been described chronologically. Various methods and techniques devised for accurate determination of the parameters of interest have also been described.
