ABSTRACT

Based on the introduction, we know that we need to model organizational resources somehow in order to “enable holism” for managers. Relying only on human capabilities is not enough. The first part of the organizational resource management framework examines different optional ways to model organizational resources. Without modeling, it is impossible to know what organizational resources consist of. Modeling organizational resources can be done from an object domain perspective and also from a system domain perspective. The object view brings object domain knowledge in management practice and examines how an organizational resource functions as an object. The system view adds meta-knowledge to management practice and examines how an organizational resource works as a system according to system parts and their interactions, the system functions, and the system border.
