ABSTRACT
The phenomenon of behavioural adaptation in traffic has been discussed for some decades now using many different names. This chapter explores existing definitions of behavioural adaptation, in particular one put forth by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in a 1990 report (OECD, 1990), and proposes a revised definition of behavioural adaptation.
