ABSTRACT
High school student Jerry is concerned about crime in his neighborhood and at school. He is seeing more criminal attack news on TV and is reading more articles in the local paper. ere have been more Šghts at school this year than ever before. Gang colors are very much in evidence and drugs were seized by the police last week. Jerry’s dad says that “everything must be all right at Lakeland High or the school authorities would notify us.” Mom is not so sure and she is worried about school safety issues.
