ABSTRACT
The collaboration vehicle is referred to as collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment (CPFR) and in the retail industry is supported by a collaboratively developed standard. The entry covers CPFR history including the role of the Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Standards Association (VICS). The entry provides examples of the benefits achieved and the implementation roadmap recommended by VICS. The results are strengthened customer relations, more revenues for the partners, and considerably less expediting and inventory costs.
