ABSTRACT

As shown in Chapter 5, “Dealing with Databases,” investigators use many di¦erent databases in their investigations. še NamUs System, which was new in 2009, is already proving essential in research on missing and unidenti—ed persons. še system’s powerful database links NamUs-MP (data on missing persons) to NamUs-UP (data on unidenti—ed persons). še following case of Paula Beverly Davis and Englewood Jane Doe (found in Montgomery County, Ohio) is one of the database’s early success stories, but there are many others, leading to resolution for law enforcement, medical examiners/ coroners, and family members.
