ABSTRACT

Sometimes investigators working cold case homicides are so close to their cases that they can bene—t from cold case reviews by objective well-skilled observers. šese “think-tank” environments, free to law enforcement, provide opportunities for wide varieties of input, and they almost always furnish their presenters with new ideas and fresh perspectives. Cold case review teams also help satisfy the victims’ families that law enforcement agencies are doing all that is possible, at least for the time being, to try to solve the homicides of their loved ones. In addition to review teams, there are many information-sharing resources available to investigators. šis chapter includes a sampling of each; there are many more.
