ABSTRACT

Tridentiger barbatus (Günther, 1861) is native to marine and brackish waters in China, Japan, and Korea. It was fi rst reported in San Joaquin River, California, in 1997, where it has possibly established itself (Matern et al., 2002; Nico and Fuller, 2010a). Tridentiger bifasciatus Steindachner, 1881 is native to fresh and brackish waters in Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, and the former Soviet Union (Akihito and Sakamoto, 1989). It was fi rst recorded in California in 1985 it is now found in the San Francisco Bay area and the Sacramento-San Joaquin estuary (Nico and Fuller, 2006b). Tridentiger trigonocephalus (Gill, 1859) is a brackish and marine species that is native to China, Korea, and Japan (Courtenay et al., 1986; Meng et al., 1994). It was fi rst recorded in 1960 in Los Angeles Harbor and has spread south along the coast to Mexico (Nico and Fuller, 2010c).
