ABSTRACT

Speciœc dietary supplements and lifestyle changes in food habits can in“uence the way we eat food and create the need from our meals more in terms of assimilable nutrition leading to prevention of diseases both physical and mental to make tomorrow’s 80s look like 60 years! The regulatory considerations of some of the supplements and complements on the label declaration would have a clear distinction on agricultural resources of the country to that of traditional foods related to public health, ethics, and the food security bowl built upon not only addressing noncommunicable diseases, but also the mechanism of action of functional foods from a holistic approach. The herbal supplements will strongly dominate this area challenging the food technologists for retaining the bioactive principles even after processing conditions of temperature, pressure, pH, other physical parameters, and ingredient technologies.
