ABSTRACT

In order to investigate periodic processes in physics, signal processing and engineering by wavelets, a theory of periodic wavelets is necessary. Y. Meyer [5] was the first to study periodic wavelets by periodization of cardinal wave­ lets. A different approach to orthogonal periodic spline wavelets based on periodization of orthogonal Battle-Lemarie wavelets [1, 4] was described by V. Perrier and C. Basdevant [6]. Semiorthogonal periodic spline wavelets obtained by periodization of Chui-Wang wavelets [2] were recently considered by G. Plonka and M. Tasche [7].
