ABSTRACT

There are various ways of limiting the problem. The constituent curves may be specified to be of a certain type. Often they are chosen to be Bezier splines, or alternatively, the topology of the mesh may be restricted in various ways . For example, “faces” of the mesh are often restricted to be triangular or rectangular. Other ways of limiting the problem are to modify one’s expec tations of a suitable interpolating surface: G 1 or G2 continuity for instance is often deemed sufficient.
