ABSTRACT
For most of these projects, the design relies on rep-
etition of a small pattern. For instance, a granny square
uses the same stitch pattern on each round, and a shawl
can be made with repetitions of a pineapple motif or a
fancy stitch. These can create beautiful projects with-
out a large-scale design: they’re simply built up by
the orderly arrangement of smaller designs. This chap-
ter focuses on large-scale designs that can be resized.
With each iteration (repetition) of the design, the object
grows significantly.
