ABSTRACT
The pacemaker is the point at which we schedule the customer orders or produce to replenish the finished-goods supermarket. At EMC’s pacemaker, any of the products in the family can be produced within one shift. This also means that the right components have to be present to make this mix, and upstream from the pacemaker there are shared resources that are providing these components.
