ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT This chapter describes a set of technologies (projects and scientific works) with relevance in care and medical monitoring for application outside the clinical context. The number of older people continues to increase and with it the increase in the number of people with chronic diseases. In order to reduce costs in health care, solutions emerged such as information and communication technologies (ICTs). All these solutions, in the context presented here, can come together in an area called ambient assisted living (AAL).
