ABSTRACT

In the course of this book we have outlined a systematic approach to managing materials and the supply chain using Lean tools. We’d be remiss if we didn’t clearly outline the specifics regarding what you need to do with your current system. As we have stated throughout the chapters, there are specific, concrete reasons for why you don’t simply want to use your current enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. We need to step back and approach this holistically, rather than try to cobble a solution together using pieces that were built with a different philosophy in mind. In this chapter we will recap this approach and try to tie it all back together into a coherent system picture. We will begin with a diagram of the complete integrated system picture (Figure 11.1).
