ABSTRACT
The different chapters in this book refer to infections associated with hospitals. The individuals at risk of acquiring these infections are patients and healthcare staff. Once a healthcare worker is infected, there are health implications for third parties, such as members of the family, co-workers and patients. When a patient becomes infected, there are similar implications for family members, visitors and their colleagues at the workplace.
