ABSTRACT
A chapter on policy needs to be selective so this chapter will focus on three themes. It presents a chronology of policy at national level, placing reports and legislation in a time line (Box 3.1), but policy debates have been grouped around three key themes:
1. The place of people with dementia 2. Dementia and decision-making 3. Dementia at the frontier.
