ABSTRACT
Proper understanding of the various forms of osteoarthritis in the ankle is essential. The anatomy and the biomechanics of the ankle joint and total ankle replacement differ significantly when compared with that of total hip and knee arthroplasty. This chapter provides a review of the basic knowledge concerning surgical treatment of ankle arthrosis.
