ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION This chapter describes the normal anatomy of the nail and some of the common problems affecting the toenails that might require surgery. No attempt is made to consider the range of inflammatory problems that might affect the nails, and readers are referred to specialist nail texts for this information. Toenail surgery techniques are then discussed in Chapter 24.
