ABSTRACT
Combinatorial testing of software can be viewed as an adapta-tion of design of experiment (DOE) methods for industrial applications. Although the general outline of DOE and combinatorial soware testing is similar, the application of DOE to soware is not a simple translation of DOE methods to a dierent domain. e unique characteristics of soware have required signicant advances, and understanding how these developments occurred can deepen our understanding of combinatorial testing.
