ABSTRACT

Trust is rooted in nearly every structural and process aspect of organizations. Employees are constantly making judgments about trust depending on the general tone of the managerial philosophy that pervades the organization. Workers are sensitive to the cultural aspects of trust. They experience it in work roles, nature of communication, credibility of leadership, the way conflict is handled, the type of politics, and the amount of confidence expressed in them. High-performing organizations feature trust and work to develop it as an important part of the organization climate. Trust is an asset. Its power should not be underestimated.
