When samples are fully germinated (i.e., the final germination rate is 100%), time to reach 50% germination (T50) and mean germination time (MGT) appeared to be very close. Uniformity is usually calculated using time to reach 90% germination (T90) minus time to reach 10% germination (T10), as used in commercial seed lots to give an idea of the homogeneity of germination when the rate is high (Figure 7.1).
