The exstrophic diseases, referred to collectively as the exstrophy-epispadias complex,1 are considered a spectrum of embryologic malformations related by certain principal anatomic features. This complex includes:
■ Epispadias – the urethra is a partial or complete open plate on the dorsal surface of the phallus.
