ABSTRACT
It is, in particular, the so-called “salep,” known for centuries. The source of it is the underground storage organs of plants of orchid family, terrestrial species distributed in temperate climate zone. On the properties of “salep” we will later, and now just note that the world human population grows and natural populations of terrestrial orchids are thinning, melting away before our eyes, of course, is not in any way providing the needs of people. It’s time to replace the usual gathering of funds in the healing nature to the intensive cultivation of the active substance through biotechnology.
