ABSTRACT
This chapter presents a state-of-the-art speaker diarization system, along with a discussion of recent research directions in the field. These are mainly focused on the research performed at the authors’ institution (ICSI) within the IM2 NCCR. ICSI’s research in the area of speaker diarization originated from previous research performed at the Idiap Research Institute (Ajmera et al., 2002a,b). Starting in late 2002, and continuing for the next decade, ICSI hosted several researchers from IDIAP and other European institutions, all of whom have contributed to the state-of-the-art work presented here.
