ABSTRACT
This chapter addresses nanotechnology in electronics. While there are many discussions about what classies something as nanotechnology, the approach employed in this chapter is to address the emerging areas that appear to have the potential for enhancing the performance of electronics. The realm of nanotechnology is providing signicant developmental efforts to produce superior devices. While developments and research for various types of devices will be presented, this chapter does not predict the application of any of these developments to actual devices. Beyond this beginning, development stage of the technology, the volume manufacturing of devices will still hold known challenges.
