ABSTRACT
A phase contrast technique is usually performed to obtain velocity images of the heart and vessels. In this sequence, ow-encoding gradients are used to translate the velocity of the magnetization into a phase in the image [1]. The most common ow-encoding gradient is a bipolar velocity-encoding gradient (Figure 9.1).
