ABSTRACT

Quantitative security refers to the ability to produce or provide adequate food for survival, and it is paramount in food safety (Wu and Xu 2009). China’s food industry has undergone continuous and rapid development during the 30 years of reform and opening up. During this time, the industry scale has expanded rapidly and the production of major foods has increased significantly. In China, the produced amounts of rice, wheat flour, edible vegetable oil, fresh frozen meat, biscuits, juices and juice drinks, beer, instant noodles, and other foods rank in the top of the world’s supply. e food industry has become one of the most important economic pillar

industries for the Chinese national economy and guarantees the quantity of food. e food industry development in China since 2005 is summarized in Sections 2.1.2 through 2.1.5.
