ABSTRACT
To fully understand how innocent civilians fall prey to these stages of transition by simply accepting a job, we must look at the process as formally examined by researchers. Although “outsiders” are best prepared to conduct these types of cultural studies, often they are not welcome behind the badge. Officers refuse to participate, remain silent, or give misleading information when interviewed by researchers attempting to understand their occupation and lifestyle.
