ABSTRACT
Because neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases of the pleura may produce very similar clinical, radiographic, and gross ndings, histopathology of pleural biopsies oen plays a crucial role in patient care. Surgical samples of pleural tissue range from tiny needle biopsies to larger open or thoracoscopic biopsies to decortication specimens to extrapleural pneumonectomies.
