Pleural eusion and pleuritic chest pain are common in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA), two of the most common connective tissue diseases (CTDs) associated with pleural disease. e reported prevalence, natural history, and course of the pleural involvement vary considerably. e data available for the other CTD are limited, as they are rare themselves.
