ABSTRACT

In the past, traditional manufacturing processes have involved a significant degree of manual operations. Initially, this was because the only available option was to do things by hand even though various types of manual mechanisms were available to make the manufacturing task easier to accomplish. More recently, automation has become another tool that can be utilized advantageously. This latest implement has become a driving force that is part of an evolutionary process in the manufacturing world. The result of this so called disturbance is a certain amount of continual change that occurs within existing manufacturing operations as well as an impact that is manifested in the changes that are incorporated into the design of new facilities.
