ABSTRACT

Houses or multi-story buildings consist of different structural elements which can be efficiently prefabricated as sections, as shown in Figure 1. They have to transfer different loads and they are usually made by different structural systems like timber frame systems, box systems or solid wood panels. However, timber hollow-box constructions made with solid wood planks are well established as suspended floor structures or roof structures. The application as wall construction is neither known nor used in multi-story timber buildings.
