ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION The families at this stage have maneuvered themselves through uncharted waters in hospital and are ready for a semblance of order. The client’s return home is a milestone for all who have been impacted by the client’s traumatic brain injury. Prior to commencing the community rehabilitation program, it is helpful to have a family meeting. This is an excellent time to educate the family and client, listen to their concerns about the return home process, and inform them of the team’s proposed plan.
