ABSTRACT
Water is essential to human survival. Freshwater scarcity is a growing problem throughout the world. roughout the world, freshwater resources and population densities are unevenly distributed. As a result, water demands already exceed supplies in regions with more than 40% of the world’s population [12]. Along with surface-water, groundwater is an important source of water supply throughout the world. More than 1.5 billion people depend on groundwater sources worldwide, withdrawing approximately 600-700 km3/yr, that is, about 20% of global water withdrawals.
