n Arterial blood supply • Ascending pharyngeal artery (lateral walls) • Ascending palatine artery (pharyngotympanic tube region and soft palate) • Greater palatine artery • Artery to the pterygoid canal
n Sensory • Predominantly visceral through the pharyngeal plexus, mainly from CN IX. • Small area of anterior medial roof supplied by somatic sensory branches of maxillary
nerve (V2).
