ABSTRACT
Healthcare public health, or population healthcare, seeks to optimise health and social care systems so that the combined effect on the care of individuals is to deliver maximum benefit to a whole population or society. It requires judgements on the benefits and costs of interventions, the quality and efficiency of services, the levels of resources and need, and the relative priorities of competing factors relevant to the population.
