ABSTRACT

The next set of chapters deals with specic applications of the Accelerated Discovery technology during actual customer engagements or demonstrations. We begin with a set of problems that are illustrative of the basic principles but are also fairly simple for the reader to work through on their own in order to come up with a result in a short period of time. en we move on to the more sophisticated examples of solutions that required many weeks to complete. All of these problems and examples apply the same methodology, but you will notice that each of them is unique in some way. is illustrates an important point I want to make about the process. e methodology I have described is meant to be applied exibly and to adapt to the circumstances of each individual problem area. Not every problem involves all the elements of the process, and it is not necessary to put all the basic elements in place before beginning to apply the more advanced ones. I think the examples and problems I have chosen for this book illustrate this idea well.
