ABSTRACT

The first objective of Accelerated Discovery (AD) is to represent the known world in a given scientic domain. If this sounds overly ambitious and a bit grandiose, it is meant to. For this is really what sets AD apart from search and data-mining technology. e necessity for taking on this challenge is readily apparent: if you do not understand what is going on in the domain, if you do not relate to the important elements, what hope do you have to further the science? To build on science you must rst know the science. Everything follows from this. To generate any new hypothesis, you must rst know what has gone on before.
