CRITICAL POINTS Must Know ◾ Proper exposure of the lateral iliac cortex and visualization (anatomic or radiographic) of the sciatic notch aids in selecting proper trajectory.
◾ Use of a narrower pedicle probe allows revision of the intrailiac pathway if necessary. ◾ Removal of a portion of the posterior superior iliac spine decreases implant prominence.
