ABSTRACT
This chapter aims to provide an overview of CF and will include an explanation of the genetics and pathophysiology associated with CF. Signs and symptoms of an infective exacerbation of CF will be discussed with reference to some of the most common microbiology seen in the CF lung. Treatment options for short-and long-term CF care will be identified. Finally, a case study will be presented that
illustrates the challenges associated with the diagnosis of CF.
