DEFINITION AND CLINICAL FEATURES Mandible fractures are typically caused by blunt trauma and are most often associated with sports injury, vehicle accidents, assaults, and falls. The prominent nature of the adult human mandible makes it particularly susceptible to injury, as it is frequently the initial point of contact for trauma.
