ABSTRACT

Natural products from plants are extracted for their medicinal properties and used as biological answers for human diseases. Remedial plants are like a library for pooling several bioactive products that hold curable property. Thus therapeutic plants are constantly explored for isolation of novel compounds that have potential healing properties against various diseases. A large number of plant’s species around 35,000 are under surveillance for tracking medicinal values against human disorders. Efforts are being made for isolation of exact compounds of a bioactive nature for specifi c disorders (Koshy Philip et al. 2011). The T. terrestris is one of the ethnomedicinal plants known for its curative values.
