ABSTRACT

The primary objective of clean rooms is to minimize and control microbial and particulate contamination. There are many sources of contamination. The atmosphere contains dust, microorganisms, condensates, and gases. Contamination control is the primary consideration in clean room design; however, the relationships between contamination control and airflow are not well understood.1 Contaminants such as particles or microbes are primarily introduced to clean rooms by people, although processes in clean rooms may also introduce contamination.2
