ABSTRACT

Supplementation to traditional drugs has gained popularity in recent years, particularly within the ‘eld of dermatology where diseases are often chronic and treatments may at times be frustrating (1,2). The intent of this review is to survey some of the more recently reported alternative and complementary dermatologic treatments, with an emphasis on those that follow evidence-based dermatology guidelines (3,4). Speci‘cally, this review focuses on those dif‘cult to treat skin conditions in which signi‘cant developments have been made, including skin pigmentation disorders, onychomycosis, psoriasis, and atopic dermatitis.
