ABSTRACT

Despite so many advantages o ered by cloud storage, individuals and especially businesses still hesitate to entrust their data to cloud storage services, since using cloud storage also raises their concerns on the integrity of their data outsourced to cloud. For example, what if data stored in the cloud are corrupted by attackers? What if incorrect operations are performed on stored data due to human errors? Is each data operation indeed performed by authorized parties? is problem is important given the fact that cloud storage platforms, even well-known commercial cloud storage platforms, may

experience hardware/soware failures, human errors, and external malicious attacks. In addition, we observed that there have been large discrepancies between the numbers of data corruption events reported by users and those acknowledged by service providers, which also causes users to doubt whether their data on cloud are truly intact. erefore, without the strong guarantee of data integrity, it is hard for cloud users to move their data to cloud storage just for economic saving and service exibility.
