The basic reproductive number is Jl() = 8.381. The underlying difference equation does not satisfy Lemma 2 (b) so that the Theorem 1 does not apply. However, all genotypes eventually persist at the limiting values that are given by Theorem 1, limt-+oo It = 56.4 and limt-+oo E,~; z:i = 354.7.
