ABSTRACT
A ccording to the strategy defined by the CIB Commission W023-Wall Structures, the Italian building masonry enclosure system is discussed in this paper. After an analysis of developments of the most common types of masonry and a description of the most frequent structures and masonry materials, the principal enclosure systems are presented. In particular, methods of calculation in the case of seismic situation are described.
